Government Launches €12 Million Affordable Housing Project in Strovolos
The Government of the Republic of Cyprus announced the launch of an affordable housing project in the municipality of Strovolos with a budget of €12 million. The announcement was published on September 3, 2025, on the In-Cyprus information portal.
According to the authorities, the project aims to expand the supply of affordable housing in Strovolos and adjacent areas of Nicosia. Funding is expected to support the construction and/or modernization of residential buildings, but details regarding the number of apartments, work schedule, and allocation mechanism have not yet been disclosed.
For residents, the main benefit is the potential increase in affordable housing stock and the easing of pressure on the rental market in the area. The project is also expected to create additional jobs in construction and related sectors during its implementation.
According to sources, further technical and administrative details will be published by official authorities and the municipality of Strovolos.
