A Bulgarian Citizen Died in a Car Accident in Larnaca
Another fatal road accident occurred in Cyprus. As a result of the crash in the Larnaca province, a 43-year-old Bulgarian citizen lost his life.
According to the police press office, the accident happened yesterday evening around 9:30 PM on a section of the Limassol – Nicosia highway. Atanas Bornev, a 43-year-old resident of Limassol, Bulgaria, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the median barrier on the highway.
As a result of the collision, the driver became trapped in the car, requiring the intervention of rescue workers to extract him. Another 23-year-old man was also injured in the accident. Both were taken to the Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors pronounced the older patient dead.
The causes of the fatal incident are being investigated by the Larnaca traffic police. It has been previously reported that the number of fatal road accidents in Cyprus has been increasing in 2024.
