Dust and abnormal heat: Cyprus expects up to 29°C and transport from the Middle East
According to the meteorological resource Kitasweather, a high-pressure ridge will dominate Cyprus until the end of the week, with clear weather, no precipitation, and dust transport from the Middle East areas expected, starting from Wednesday.
The wind is easterly and will facilitate the movement of thin dust over the island. As early as Wednesday, the presence of suspended dust particles is expected in the atmosphere.
The air temperature will rise to abnormally high values for the season. On Monday, the island is forecast to have approximately 23–26 degrees Celsius on the plains and coast, and about 10 degrees Celsius in the Troodos mountains.
On Tuesday, the temperature background will increase slightly: about 23–26 degrees in the plains, 24–27 degrees on the coast, and about 12 degrees in Troodos. On Wednesday — approximately 24–27 degrees on the plains and coast, about 14 degrees in the mountains.
On Thursday, a further increase is expected — about 25–28 degrees on the plains, 26–29 degrees on the coast, and about 15 degrees in Troodos. On Friday, the maximums will be approximately 26–29 degrees on the plains and coast, about 16 degrees in the mountains.
No significant changes are expected over the weekend: sunny weather with intervals of high cloudiness will persist, with a maximum of about 29 degrees Celsius. No rain is forecast, and dust will remain suspended in the atmosphere.
