Cyprus Fraud Suspect Wanted Since 2021 Arrested in Europe
A 30-year-old man, wanted in connection with a 2021 online fraud case in Limassol, has been arrested in a European country as part of an ongoing investigation.
The original complaint, filed in November 2021 with the Limassol Crime Investigation Department, alleged that the suspect had defrauded a company via email, resulting in the theft of $30,500. Both national and European arrest warrants were subsequently issued for his capture.
According to a statement from Cyprus police, the suspect was apprehended on October 16 by authorities in an undisclosed European country. On November 5, he was extradited to Cyprus under police escort and formally arrested under the national warrant upon his arrival.
