Record number of participants at the Bank of Cyprus Marathon in Nicosia

A record number of participants was recorded at the Marathon of Nicosia in the capital of Cyprus, organized with the support of Bank of Cyprus. This year, over 8,000 runners took part, marking the highest turnout in the event’s history.
The marathon confirmed its international status: participants arrived in Nicosia from dozens of countries, including Europe, the Middle East, the USA, Canada, Australia, and Asia. Organizers note that interest in the event continues to grow, and the marathon has become not only a sporting but also a tourist and social occasion.
The race includes several distances — from the classic 42 km marathon to shorter and children’s runs — making it accessible to both professional athletes and amateurs. Special emphasis is traditionally placed on charitable aspects and participation by corporate teams.
According to organizers, the record number of entries confirms that the Nicosia marathon has become one of the key sports event highlights of the island.
