In 17 European countries, including Finland, Croatia, and Slovenia, more than 60% of all doctors are women.
The report also notes that in 18 out of 27 EU countries, there are more specialists than general practitioners.
Cyprus leads the EU in the number of practicing general practitioners relative to its population, with 137.7 GPs per 100,000 residents.
However, Greece tops the charts for the highest number of medical specialists per capita, boasting 269.3 specialists per 100,000 people.
In absolute terms, Germany and Italy are home to the largest numbers of registered medical specialists in Europe.
