The price of a loaf of bread in Northern Cyprus will rise to 20 TL starting tomorrow

Bread prices in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have increased again. As reported, starting from August 1, the price of a regular round loaf (somun) will be 20 Turkish lira.
The price hike was decided by local bakers, citing rising production costs, including flour, yeast, electricity, and other components. Previously, the price of somun was 15 lira.
This is not the first time bread prices have gone up recently. Consumers are increasingly concerned about the decreasing affordability of staple foods.
It is expected that the price increase will also affect other bakery products. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the latest price surge.
