Turkey Cancels “Visa on Arrival” for Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus from January 2, 2026

The website of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has posted information about changes to the visa regime for holders of Republic of Cyprus (RoC) passports. From January 2, 2026, they will no longer be able to obtain a bandrol vize (visa at the border) — entry will only be possible with a visa obtained in advance.
The document notes that citizens of the Republic of Cyprus will still require a visa: entry permission can be obtained via e-Visa or at Turkish diplomatic missions abroad, but not at the border.
