Near the building of the Omonia Football Club in Nicosia, firewood was burning
A serious fire occurred near the union building of the Omonia Football Club in Nicosia. Fire services were alerted early in the morning.
According to emergency services, the fire near the Omonia FC union building on Papanikoli Street in Nicosia started around four o'clock in the morning.
The fire, extinguished by firefighters, caused minor damage to the exterior of the union building.
Police officers arrived at the scene for inspection. It was determined that the fire started due to firewood located in the union's courtyard.
Fire investigators and police are determining the cause of the fire. So far, authorities have not found any flammable materials in the area.
