Section of Nicosia–Limassol Highway to Close Overnight for Roadworks
Part of the Nicosia–Limassol highway will be closed tonight and tomorrow night due to overnight roadworks. Police are urging drivers to proceed with caution.
The maintenance work will take place near the Kotsiatis area, running from 8:00 PM to 5:30 AM. It will continue from Thursday evening into Friday morning. During this time, all three lanes heading toward Limassol will be closed for about three kilometers near the Kotsiatis exit. Traffic will be rerouted to the opposite side of the highway, where two-way traffic will be temporarily set up.
The Kotsiatis exit itself will also be closed. Drivers will be diverted through the Agia Varvara exit and onto the old Nicosia–Limassol road. The repair works include milling and resurfacing the road.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that another section of the Limassol–Nicosia highway near the Kalavasos bridge has been closed since January 30 due to ongoing bridge repair and upgrade works. Traffic from Limassol to Nicosia is currently being redirected to the opposite side of the highway, with two-way traffic in place.
According to the Department of Public Works, that section is expected to reopen by May 15.
