The Limassol Municipality, under the leadership of Mayor Yiannis Armetis, has successfully removed graffiti from the city's public spaces.

The initiative, held under the slogan "For a Clean, Friendly, and Accessible City," saw participation from municipal staff, Limassol residents, and the mayor himself. Together, they worked to eliminate street art, restoring the city’s aesthetic appeal and reinforcing its image as a welcoming and tidy urban area.

“This initiative serves as a great example of cooperation between local authorities and citizens, highlighting the importance of collective action in enhancing the quality of life in our city,” the municipality stated.

The campaign specifically targeted graffiti but did not affect artworks created as part of the street art festival or those deemed artistic rather than vandalistic.
