Israeli Man Arrested in Ayia Napa for Assaulting British Woman
In Ayia Napa, police have arrested a 20-year-old Israeli on charges of assault and causing serious bodily harm to a 45-year-old British woman.
According to the Famagusta Criminal Investigations Department, the incident occurred on July 17 at a hotel pool. The victim reported that the young man verbally abused her and physically assaulted her.
It is alleged that the conflict began when the British woman asked the man to "stop harassing other female guests at the hotel," which provoked his aggressive reaction.
The woman sustained a nasal fracture and received medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested on July 18 after a court issued an arrest warrant. He has appeared before the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni and has been remanded in custody for four days pending further investigation.
