IN AYIA NAPA, THE AYIA NAPA-GELENDZHIK PANORAMIC PARK IS OPENED
The opening ceremony of the Ayia Napa-Gelendzhik Panoramic Park was attended by representatives of the two cities: Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettou and members of the municipal council of the city, along with the representative of the Honorary Mayor of Gelendzhik, Alexey Bogadistov.
As reported by the Russian Embassy in Cyprus, the inauguration of the observation deck overlooking the sea, bearing the names of the two sister cities, signifies that the cooperation between the cities is fruitful, long-term, and holds prospects for development.
The park area is fully landscaped, featuring lighting, walking paths, playgrounds, planted trees, and flower beds. The platform offers a beautiful view of Ayia Napa and the sea.
It is worth noting that the tradition of sister cities originated during World War II when residents of the English city of Coventry supported the inhabitants of the devastated Stalingrad. As a sign of recognition, they sent a tablecloth embroidered with the words "Better a small help than great regret" to the Soviet Union.
