Infant Hospitalized in Critical Condition with Meningitis at Makarios Hospital
A 3.5-month-old infant has been admitted to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia in critical condition after being diagnosed with meningitis.
According to a spokesperson for the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY), the baby was initially transferred to Famagusta Hospital. However, due to the severity of the condition, it was decided to transfer the infant to Makarios Hospital for more specialized care.
The spokesperson for OKYPY confirmed that the infant's condition is very serious, and medical staff are doing everything they can to save the child's life. This marks the fourth reported case of meningitis in Cyprus in the past two months.
This follows the recent death of a 17-year-old who had been in intensive care at Nicosia General Hospital for a prolonged period due to complications from meningitis.
