60-Year-Old Man Dies in Accident on Nicosia – Troodos Highway
A fatal accident occurred on Monday morning in Cyprus, claiming the life of a 60-year-old man on the Nicosia – Troodos highway.
According to the police press office, the tragedy unfolded around six o'clock in the morning. In the Atsa area, a car driven by Lambros Mavrommatis, a 60-year-old resident of Lakatamia, collided with another vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man. Two 21-year-old passengers were also in the second car.
The driver of the first vehicle became trapped as a result of the collision, necessitating the intervention of the fire service to free him.
He was transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician.
The three passengers from the second vehicle were taken to Kyperoundas Hospital as a precautionary measure.
