Thirteen illegal workers caught in two areas of Cyprus
The police of the Republic of Cyprus, in cooperation with the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, continued coordinated efforts to combat illegal employment. Thirteen offenders were detained in Larnaca and the Famagusta district in one day.
In particular, during a coordinated operation conducted yesterday at two properties in the Larnaca province, a total of ten individuals were arrested for working without official authorization.
Subsequent checks revealed that one of the detainees had provided documents belonging to another person. The suspect is charged with impersonation.
Additionally, violations were identified by the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, and administrative fines were imposed on both employers.
On the same day, during a raid in the Famagusta province, three more individuals were arrested for illegal work. All three offenders, as well as their employer, were taken to the Ayia Napa police station, where they were formally charged.
