In February, there were more tourists in Cyprus
In February, the Republic of Cyprus recorded a recovery in tourist arrivals. The number of travelers to the island increased by 5%.
According to data published by the Statistical Service, tourist arrivals recovered in February after a decline observed in January. The number of tourists arriving in February 2024 was 125,034 compared to 119,081 in February 2023.
In total, for the first two months of 2024, the number of tourists in the country reached 212,995, compared to 209,630 for the same period in 2023, when record figures were recorded. As a result, the growth in tourist arrivals for the first two months of 2024 reached 1.6%.
The leader in the number of tourists remains the United Kingdom - 24.6% (30,774) of the total arrivals. Next are Poland (13.3%, 16,591), Israel (10.6%, 13,290), and Greece (10.3%, or 12,835 people).
For 66.8% of arrivals, the purpose of the trip in February was vacation, 17.8% came to visit friends or relatives, and 14.2% arrived for business trips.
It is also noted that trips by residents of Cyprus abroad in February 2024 amounted to 114,110 compared to 102,001 in February 2023.
