Cyprus Received Just 41% of Expected Rainfall in February
According to preliminary data from the Department of Meteorology, Cyprus received only 41% of its expected rainfall during February 2025. From February 1 to 28, the island recorded an average of just 33.6 mm of rain, compared to the usual monthly average of 81.6 mm.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Prodromos, with 53.1 mm (37% of the norm), followed closely by Stavros tis Psokas, which saw 52.9 mm (39% of the norm).
Other areas that experienced notable rainfall include:
- Saittas: 50.4 mm (45% of the norm)
- Kellaki: 47.6 mm (49% of the norm)
- Polis: 45.1 mm (62% of the norm)
- Limassol New Port: 41.1 mm (56% of the norm)
From March 1 to 4, the island saw a mere 0.5 mm of rain, just 1% of the expected monthly rainfall. The heaviest showers during this period occurred in:
- Prodromos: 2.5 mm
- Platani: 2 mm
- Atalassa (Nicosia): 1.8 mm
