In Lakatamia, inspections are being carried out and a new water reservoir is being built due to interruptions in water supply.
In the municipality of Lakatamia, located in the Nicosia district, problems with water supply have been recorded. According to local authorities, in recent times residents of certain areas have experienced interruptions in water delivery, raising concerns about its sufficiency during the summer period.
In response to the situation, authorities are conducting inspections at existing water supply facilities to detect and eliminate possible breakdowns or leaks. At the same time, construction of a new water reservoir is underway, intended to ensure a stable supply even during increased demand. As a preventive measure, modernization of the infrastructure is also being considered.
For residents of the area, this means that short-term water supply interruptions may occur in the near future, linked to repair work and the connection of the new reservoir. The municipality recommends keeping a minimal reserve of water and regularly monitoring announcements about the condition of the network.
According to municipal services, such local water supply interruptions in the summer months are not unusual for the suburban areas of Nicosia, especially during periods of high consumption. Regular inspections and infrastructure development help minimize the risk of long outages and ensure reliable water supply for residents even during peak demand.
