Dangerous street races with bets in Larnaca: a car at high speed hit a spectator

A scandal is unfolding in Larnaca around illegal street races which, according to local residents, are held with bets and attract dozens of spectators. A new shocking video has appeared online: an out-of-control car at tremendous speed shoots forward, hits another vehicle and strikes a man standing nearby.
The incident occurred on one of the roads in the Larnaca area, where, locals claim, fans of illegal racing regularly gather. The video shows participants accelerating along the road among parked cars and people.
After the video appeared on social networks, residents expressed outrage not only at the incident itself, but also at the alleged lack of response from the police to constant complaints. Some claim they have repeatedly reported night races, betting and crowds of spectators, but the situation keeps repeating.
The police say that the circumstances of the incident are being investigated and the video is being examined. It has not yet been reported whether the driver or the organizers of the race have been detained.
Local residents are demanding immediate measures, fearing that next time such races could end in tragedy.
