In Larnaca, mosquito treatments continue
Brigades of the Larnaca Municipal Health Service are continuing systematic checks and spraying for mosquitoes throughout the city.
According to a statement from the Larnaca municipality, recently, the areas of Aliki on Spiros Beach, the old airport, Tekke, Faneromeni Avenue, Kamara, the old shooting range, as well as the Vergina and oil refinery areas were sprayed.
Now, mosquito control is being carried out within the city as well: specialists are treating traditional mosquito breeding grounds such as rain grids, open channels, closed pools, water-filled excavations, and other liquid containers.
Furthermore, Ministry of Health brigades continue their campaign in the city against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (yellow fever mosquitoes) and are informing the public.
Following recent heavy rains, the Larnaca municipality urges citizens to drain water accumulated in any objects or premises in their homes. Mosquitoes can lay eggs in minimal amounts of water, and after hatching, they can infest the entire area.
For any information/complaints, citizens can contact the Larnaca Municipality Complaints Department at 24816530 or the Health Service at 24816557/559.
