96-Year-Old Briton Killed in Larnaca Car Crash
An elderly British citizen tragically lost his life in a car accident in Cyprus. The fatal crash took place last night in the Larnaca district.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 8:10 PM on the Rizoelia highway near the Kalos Chorio roundabout. The elderly man, who was driving at the time, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to swerve off the road, hit an embankment, and overturn into a ditch.
The victim, identified as 96-year-old George Theodoru, a permanent resident of London, became trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters had to use special equipment to free him from the mangled car.
He was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital, where doctors sadly confirmed that he had passed away.
Larnaca traffic police are urging anyone who may have information about the accident to contact them at 24-804179, visit the nearest police station, or call the "Politis" hotline at 1460.
