Limassol police are warning residents about a series of frauds where individuals pose as employees of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) and demand money for allegedly restoring power supply.

According to the police, the scammers visit houses and apartments, speak Greek, and claim to be fixing an electrical problem. It turned out they were manually turning off the circuit breaker on the external electrical panel to create the appearance of a fault. They then "restore" the power and demand payment for the supposed work performed.

The police urge citizens to remain vigilant and not to give money to unknown persons. In case of suspicious situations, people should immediately contact the nearest police station, the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department at 25 805057, or the hotline 1460.
