24-Year-Old Foreign Student Attacked in Limassol: Motorcycle Stolen
Another attack on a foreign student occurred in Limassol, where a 24-year-old Indian student was assaulted, and his motorcycle was stolen.
According to the police press office, the robbery took place last night around 7:00 PM in the Kapsalos area. The Indian student, who is in the Republic of Cyprus as a student, reported that he was riding his scooter when two men on a black motorcycle approached him.
The attackers allegedly assaulted him, beat him, and then stole his motorcycle, valued at €1,500. Both assailants were dressed in black clothing and wore black helmets.
It has not been confirmed whether the victim was a food delivery driver or a courier.
It's worth noting that attacks on couriers in Limassol have become increasingly frequent, with several incidents occurring each week. The most recent attack took place on October 29, following similar incidents on October 25 and 16.
In total, 19 attacks on couriers have been recorded this year, with sixteen in Limassol and three in Nicosia.
Earlier, Justice Minister Marios Hartsiotis stated that the government is determined to put an end to racist attacks on food delivery workers.
