In Limassol, the police have apprehended a gang that has been robbing motorcyclists using a fire extinguisher. Three individuals have fallen victim to these criminals.

According to local media, the incidents occurred last night. A man was riding his motorcycle on Archbishop Makarios Street when four assailants on two motorcycles, dressed in black hooded clothing, approached him.

As they drew level with the victim, the criminals sprayed his face with a fire extinguisher. After he fell to the ground, they struck him several more times. The attackers then stole his motorcycle, valued at 2,500 euros, a mobile phone worth 100 euros, and 300 euros in cash.

The second attack occurred 15 minutes later, at 2:40 AM. Another man was riding his motorcycle at the intersection of Agia Sophia and T. Potamianos streets. Similarly, four individuals on two bikes in dark clothing sprayed him in the face with a fire extinguisher. His motorcycle, a mobile phone worth 250 euros, and 300 euros in cash were also stolen.

The criminals fled in an unknown direction. The third similar incident happened at 3:45 AM. This time, the victim was riding a bicycle on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue near the Agios Nikolaos roundabout. He was robbed in the same manner as the previous two victims, and his shoulder bag containing two bank cards and a foreigner registration card was taken.

After receiving these alarming reports, patrols from the Limassol police department discovered a motorcycle without license plates on Markou Drakou Street in Mesa Geitonia, carrying two individuals matching the victims' descriptions.

After a chase, the perpetrators abandoned the motorcycle and attempted to flee. The police caught one of the escapees, while the other managed to get away.

During a search, the detained individual was found with a mobile phone worth 1,500 euros, which he could not explain. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

At 6:30 AM, information was received that one of the stolen motorcycles had been found and secured.
