FOOTBALL FANS GOT INTO A FIGHT IN LIMASSOL
On Wednesday evening in Limassol, there was a serious clash between fans of the local football club and fans from Nicosia. As a result, a 21-year-old boy was hospitalized.
According to the police press service, around 11:00 p.m., law enforcement agencies received information that there were about 40 hooded fans outside the fan club in Limassol, while a second group of about 80 fans arrived at the scene, armed with stones and sticks. A clash ensued between the phantoms. Its participants threw stones, firecrackers, Molotov cocktails and tear gas canisters at each other.
Police patrols arrived at the scene, but after seeing the law enforcers, the hooligans fled to the nearby streets of the district.
As a result of the riots, the car was completely burned down, shop windows were damaged. A 21-year-old young man was taken to hospital with a broken elbow.
Police found a man in a Limassol sweatshirt on one street with three firebombs.
The police are continuing their investigation to identify all those involved in the street fight.
