In Limassol, a 37-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of stealing icons and drug possession. He was caught attempting to siphon gasoline from a parked truck.
According to the police, around 1:00 am, a report was received that a suspicious person was observed in the Kapsalos area trying to siphon gasoline into a canister from a parked truck. Limassol police officers were dispatched to the scene.
As part of the investigation, they stopped the truck being driven by a 37-year-old resident of Limassol. Upon a personal search, a transparent bag containing a small amount of crystalline methamphetamine was found on him. In addition, during the search, the police found five icons and burglary tools - scissors, gloves, and a crowbar.
The man could not clearly explain why he needed these tools late at night. Plastic containers with gasoline were also found.
A drug test administered to the suspect also yielded a positive result.
