Explosion in Limassol: Unknown Individuals Throw Fragmentation Grenade
An explosion rocked Limassol last night when unknown assailants threw a fragmentation grenade in front of the home of a 63-year-old man.
According to the police, the explosion was reported by the owner of an apartment located in the Cyriou area. Authorities, including the police and a bomb disposal expert, were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the explosion occurred around 1 a.m., following the throwing of a defensive fragmentation grenade, which detonated after falling onto the granite floor of the building’s entrance.
The site was photographed and cordoned off, with the extent of the damage yet to be determined. The investigation is ongoing.
