In Limassol, a children's carnival took place
As part of the Limassol Carnival 2024, a children's parade took place over the past weekend. Thousands of people of all ages participated in the procession.
The carnival celebrations continue in Cyprus for two weeks. On the first Sunday of the holiday, a children's parade takes place. The procession started at 11:30 in the municipal garden. The column, consisting of 63 platforms with people in colorful carnival costumes, moved towards the old port. Clowns, Vikings, pirates, Barbie dolls, and even Mexican dancers joined the festive procession.
The festive procession was led by the parade queen, dubbed the "pearl of the Mediterranean." This honorary role was entrusted to a physical education teacher and modern dance instructor, Christiana Haralambous.
During the event from the municipal park to the Old Port, thousands of young participants of the children's carnival marched. Thousands of spectators from all over Cyprus gathered to see the children, schoolchildren, and teenagers participating in the procession.
Recall that the carnival in Limassol officially started on March 7. The holiday will last for 11 days.
On Sunday, March 17, Cyprus awaits the culmination of the 11-day carnival celebrations - the Grand Parade in Limassol.
