Limassol to Host the First-Ever "Love Shuttle"
The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) has announced the launch of its inaugural Love Shuttle event, scheduled for Sunday, December 8, at Limassol Pier.
This event aligns with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and commemorates the 35th anniversary of the CSC. It also aims to raise funds for the Pancyprian Organization for People with Disabilities.
According to CSC Director General Thomas Kazakos, the event will feature a 35-kilometer marathon, symbolizing the Chamber’s 35 years of operation, as well as a 3.5-kilometer relay race involving five children with disabilities.
“Each child, supported by a companion, will cover 750 meters before passing the baton to the next participant. All participants will cross the finish line together at the starting point,” Kazakos explained.
The relay race will begin at 9:45 AM, while the marathon will start earlier, at 7:00 AM, to ensure that all participants finish together.
The initiative has the support of First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides and will include the participation of Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Marilena Evangelou.
Kazakos also unveiled the new logo of the Chamber’s charitable organization, Cyprus Shipping Cares. The logo combines the CSC acronym with its philanthropic mission.
The Chamber has a strong tradition of organizing events focused on community welfare, including a ship adoption program for schools, blood donation drives for Seafarers’ Day, and a charity beach volleyball tournament.
