TWO CARS BURNED IN LIMASSOL EARLY IN THE MORNING: ONE OF THEM EXPLODED
In Limassol this morning, two vehicle fires occurred, with an explosion causing one of them.
According to the police press service, a report of an explosion in the Trachoni area was received at the Episkopi police station around 04:20.
Police officers and representatives of other law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene. During the examination of the incident site, it was determined that the explosion occurred in the front part of a car belonging to a 21-year-old man. The vehicle was parked near his home.
As a result of the explosion, a fire started, which was extinguished with a fire extinguisher and water before it spread to the rest of the car and the building.
The residential house did not have a surveillance camera system. The incident site was cordoned off and placed under guard. Authorities continued to inspect the area as daylight began.
A few minutes earlier, around 4:00 am, a fire was noticed in a parked car in the Kapsalos area. It is known that the car belonged to a car sales company.
Police and firefighters arrived at the scene, extinguishing the fire. The vehicle was completely destroyed, and it was not insured.
After the preliminary examination of the incident site, the exact causes of the fire could not be determined. The investigation is ongoing.
