Limassol police apprehended a Georgian citizen who had been passing herself off as Greek using a counterfeit identity card. Previously identified as a prohibited migrant in the country, she had been placed on the stop list, barring her from visiting the island.

According to police reports, the 27-year-old woman was discovered during a joint operation between the police and the Department of Labour Inspection at a multi-story building on Amathus Avenue in Limassol. The inspection was initiated following intelligence received by the Inspection Department indicating that a Georgian national was utilizing a forged Greek identity card.

Upon her apprehension, the foreigner admitted to using a fake passport and disclosed her true identity.

Subsequent checks against police databases revealed that the woman's actual name was listed on the stop list as a "prohibited immigrant."

The 27-year-old woman was arrested and transported to the Limassol police station. Following interrogation, she faced several charges.
