Veterinary Services have reported a confirmed case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) at a cattle farm in Livadia, Larnaca district.

According to an official statement, the owner of the facility has been notified, and the established protocol is being applied to the farm, which includes the culling of all animals.

The area within a three-kilometer radius around the farm has been cordoned off: a ban has been imposed on the movement of livestock and animal products without permission from Veterinary Services.

Authorities emphasize that there is no cause for public alarm. Foot-and-mouth disease does not pose a threat to human health; therefore, there is no reason to avoid consuming livestock products.
