Large-scale anti-terrorism exercise to take place at Ayia Napa Marina on 21 November

On 21 November 2025, a large-scale anti-terrorism exercise is scheduled to take place at Ayia Napa Marina, carried out by the Cyprus Police in cooperation with the port administration.
The exercise will take place from 9:00 to 11:30, during which a scenario of an attack on port facilities will be simulated. Units of the Cyprus Police, special services, ambulance teams, the fire department, marina security and representatives of the European HECTOR project, responsible for the security of tourist infrastructure in the EU, will take part in the operation.
The main objective is to test coordination between services, response speed and interaction in the event of a possible terrorist threat, as well as to give participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves in advance with the marina area and response routes.
Residents and visitors of the region are warned:
There will be an increased police presence in the marina area, and blank shots may be heard. This is part of the training process and does not pose any danger.
