Weapon and Ammunition Found Hidden in Grave at Limassol Cemetery
A stash of weapons and ammunition has been discovered in a grave at a cemetery in Limassol. A pistol and its ammunition were concealed inside one of the tombs.
According to the police, just before the search, authorities received a tip-off that a firearm linked to a recent crime might be buried in one of the graves at the city cemetery. After securing permission to excavate, officers from the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department and the Emergency Response Unit carried out the search and indeed found the pistol with ammunition.
The weapon has been sent for forensic analysis to determine if it is connected to any ongoing criminal investigations.
Police did not reveal the specific grave where the stash was found, nor which crime the weapon might be linked to. The investigation is still underway.
