In the municipality of Latsia, free parking for families with infants has been introduced
The Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality announced the creation of parking spaces for families with infants and strollers opposite the town hall of the Latsia municipality.
According to the municipality's statement, the opening of the parking spaces is the result of cooperation and consultations between the Commissioner for Gender Equality and the Union of Municipalities.
With the support of the Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality, 29 municipalities are developing an annual action plan to ensure gender equality.
The plan includes the creation of breastfeeding rooms, adequate lighting in municipal parking lots and community parks, enhancing the sense of security for citizens and especially women in the evening, as well as creating parking spaces in municipal parking lots and facilities for child care in men's restrooms.
"Today, we are pleased to see the beginning of the implementation of the action plan, which includes projects and efforts aimed at easing the daily lives of both genders," the message says.
The Office of the Commissioner for Gender Equality thanked the mayor of Latsia, Christos Pittaras, and the Municipal Council of the city for their cooperation and implementation of the project to create parking spaces for families with children and strollers.
