Cocaine Shipment Hidden in Shoe Soles to Cyprus Prevented in Nigeria
Nigerian police have seized a large consignment of drugs, some of which were intended for Cyprus. The cocaine, which was to be sent to the island, was hidden in the soles of shoes.
According to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the drugs were seized in Lagos. In addition to shoe soles, the illegal substances were also packed in clothing, creams, and other household items intended for shipment through courier companies in Lagos. The illicit goods were destined for the USA and European countries, including Cyprus.
In total, during law enforcement raids in the regions of Edo, Borno, Ogun, and Katsina, Nigerian authorities seized more than 11 kilograms of drugs.
Among the seized drugs were cocaine and opioids such as tramadol, pentazocine injections, morphine sulfate, and ketamine injections. It is known that 250 grams of cocaine were intended for Cyprus.
Another batch of synthetic cannabis from Canada, weighing 440 grams, was also intercepted in Lagos by logistics company agents.
