Cars Set Ablaze in Nicosia and Paphos: Arson Suspected
Two cars were destroyed in fires early this morning in Cyprus, and authorities suspect they may have been deliberately set on fire.
The first incident occurred at around 2 a.m. in Paphos. A car belonging to a 27-year-old man, parked near his home in the Emba area, caught fire. Firefighters arrived promptly to extinguish the flames, while police cordoned off the area to begin their investigation.
The second fire broke out three hours later, at approximately 5 a.m., in Nicosia. A car parked near the Hippodrome in Dometia went up in flames. Firefighters and police officers were dispatched to the scene.
The vehicle, owned by an employee of the Hippodrome, suffered extensive damage. Initial investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by arson.
Authorities are continuing their investigations into the causes of both fires.
