Teenager Brutally Beaten in Homophobic Attack in Nicosia
A 17-year-old boy was the victim of a violent homophobic assault in Nicosia.
According to the police, the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday in the Lakatamia area. The teenager was walking alone when two unknown men in a passing car stopped, got out, and launched a violent attack. The boy sustained injuries and later went to the police with his father to report the assault.
Police are currently treating homophobic and discriminatory motives as the primary line of investigation. However, it is still unclear how the attackers identified the boy or what led them to target him specifically.
The investigation remains ongoing.
