Five Illegal Workers Arrested at Paphos Hotel
The Paphos police have arrested five individuals for illegal employment and hiring at a hotel in the resort area. Their employer was also detained.
According to Michalis Nikolaou, the assistant head of the Paphos police's operations department, immigration and labor services officers conducted an inspection at the hotel on Tuesday morning after receiving reports of illegal workers being employed there.
During the inspection, five men were found working in the hotel's gardens. The individuals were Middle Eastern nationals, aged between 18 and 35, all of whom were asylum seekers. They were working for a 45-year-old Greek Cypriot from Limassol. None of the workers had the necessary documents.
The five men, along with their employer, were arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
