Two 68-Year-Old Pedestrians Hit by Cars in Paphos and Limassol

In Cyprus, two 68-year-old women were struck by vehicles in two separate cities. One of the victims is British.

According to emergency services, the incidents occurred on the evening of the previous day in Limassol and Paphos.

The first accident happened around 6:30 PM in Limassol. A 27-year-old man driving a car hit a 68-year-old woman who was attempting to cross the street at the intersection of Misiouli and Kavazoglou Streets. The injured woman was taken by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where she remains in serious condition with severe injuries and a concussion. The circumstances of the accident are still under investigation, and the driver has been called in for questioning.

The second accident occurred just before midnight in Paphos. On Archbishop Makarios Avenue in Geroskipou, a 68-year-old British woman, a long-term local resident, was hit by a car. According to the Police Headquarters Communications Office, the accident took place at a pedestrian crossing. The driver was a 64-year-old woman. The injured British woman was transported by ambulance to the emergency department of Paphos General Hospital, where she was treated and subsequently hospitalized for further observation.

The Paphos Traffic Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this accident.
