In Paphos, lightning struck the roof of a residential house
In Cyprus, the damage from the bad weather that hit the island yesterday is being assessed. In the province of Paphos, during a thunderstorm, lightning struck the roof of a residential house.
As reported on the "Alpha Kalimera" program by the owner of the affected residence, at the time of the incident, a man and a child were inside the house. The lightning strike caused material damage to the residential building. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
As a reminder, on Monday, April 8th, a storm hit Cyprus – the country experienced heavy rains and thunderstorms with hail. The abundant precipitation led to worsened road conditions in Nicosia and the Troodos foothills. Authorities were forced to issue warnings to drivers. The yellow warning was extended for another day on the eve.
