Fake residence permits and driver's licenses from Turkey have been discovered in Paphos
The Paphos police have arrested three individuals who are suspected of being involved in the production of fake residence permits and driver's licenses. The counterfeit documents were imported to Cyprus from Turkey.
According to law enforcement authorities, information was received yesterday at the Paphos police station regarding the arrival of counterfeit documents intended for foreign citizens on the island. Subsequently, the police conducted an operation at one of the courier points.
Around 3:25 PM, a 41-year-old man was observed near the pickup location, who received a parcel from Turkey at the specified office. During the search of the package, hidden Greek and Bulgarian driver's licenses issued in the names of foreign individuals were discovered, and these documents appeared to be counterfeit.
At 4:05 PM, two more individuals aged 36 and 45 entered the same office and received a parcel also sent from Turkey. Upon inspection, a Cypriot residence permit was found in the name of one of the two detained individuals.
All three recipients of the parcels from Turkey have been arrested and taken into custody. The investigative procedures are being carried out by the Paphos Crime Investigation Department.
