Five Illegal Workers Arrested in Paphos

Paphos police have arrested five individuals for illegal residence in the Republic and working without work permits.

According to the police press office, on September 17, officers from the Paphos Foreigners and Immigration Service, in collaboration with officials from the Ministry of Labour’s Inspection Service and the police headquarters, conducted a coordinated operation targeting illegal residence and employment in the Republic of Cyprus.

During the operation, two individuals, aged 35 and 50, from Nepal and Armenia, were arrested for unlawfully residing in the republic.

Additionally, three people, aged 22, 31, and 39, were detained at a hotel in Kato Paphos for working there without the necessary authorization. All three were arrested and taken to the Minor Offenses Department.

After interrogation, they were charged with illegal employment. Similar charges will be filed against their employer.
