British Woman Wanted for Fraud, Arrested in Paphos
The Paphos police have arrested a 56-year-old British woman wanted in the United Kingdom for a fraud case involving nearly 300,000 euros.
According to the assistant director of the Paphos police, the woman was arrested yesterday around 5:30 PM on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the UK for criminal prosecution.
The alleged fraud took place between 2017 and 2019 and involves the embezzlement of approximately 296,000 euros.
Extradition proceedings to return the detained woman to the UK are expected to begin today at the Paphos District Court.
