In Paphos, the court arrested three juvenile car thieves
Three teenagers were caught stealing a car in Paphos. The District Court issued rulings to detain three minors aged 15, 17, and 16 for several days.
According to the assistant director of the Paphos Police, Michalis Nikolaou, a car worth 2000 euros was stolen in Paphos on March 14.
Five days later, on March 19, the stolen car was found abandoned in a remote area of Stavrokonnos. During further investigation, the police traced suspects aged 15, 16, and 17.
Three days later, on March 22, the 15-year-old and 17-year-old boys were arrested based on court orders and taken to the Paphos District Court, where they were remanded for five days.
The 16-year-old teenager was arrested on Sunday, March 24. On Monday, he was also brought to the Paphos District Court, which decided on his two-day detention.
According to a police representative, after the completion of the investigation, the case materials will be transferred to the Legal Service for instructions regarding its consideration in connection with the involvement of minors.
It is worth noting that this is not the only case of car theft by minors recorded in Cyprus in recent days. For example, on March 25, on the Independence Day of Greece, in Limassol, a 12-year-old boy decided to take his father's car for a ride and crashed it into a pole.
