Cloudy and clear weather expected on the first day of spring in Cyprus
According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Friday, March 1, weak low pressure gradually begins to affect the region. There will be dust in the atmosphere, the concentration of which may temporarily increase. A decrease in the amount of dust in the air is expected on Sunday.
Today in the first half of the day the weather will be mostly clear, but in the second half of the day the average and high cloudiness will increase. Winds will be northeast to southeast, light to moderate.
Temperatures this afternoon are forecast to reach up to 22°C in inland and coastal areas and up to 15°C in mountainous areas, the Met Office said.
Partly cloudy skies with medium to high clouds are also expected by the evening.
Temperatures will drop to around 5°C in inland areas, 9°C in the south-east and northern coasts, 11°C on other coasts and 6°C in mountainous areas.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly on Saturday, remaining above climate averages, before decreasing on Sunday to be closer to seasonal averages. Temperatures will rise slightly on Monday.
