Foreign Tourist Robbed in the Dekelia Area
In the Republic of Cyprus, police are investigating the robbery of a foreign tourist. The incident occurred in the Dekelia area.
According to a police spokesperson on state radio, an unknown assailant attacked the woman around noon while she was near her hotel. The attacker approached her from behind and grabbed her bag. When the woman attempted to resist, the assailant struck her right arm with a sharp object, causing a minor injury.
The victim's cash and mobile phone were stolen in the attack. The nationality and age of the tourist have not been disclosed.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have already detained a suspect. The suspect, a 32-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in court today.
