Financial Literacy Classes to be Introduced in Cypriot Schools
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus has approved a financial literacy program for schools. The new subject will be introduced in the 3rd grade.
Minister of Education Athena Michaelidou announced the inclusion of the subject in the school curriculum on Friday after the Council of Ministers meeting.
- The new subject we are introducing in our schools is based on the Financial Education and Literacy Program, which is also grounded in the National Strategy on this matter, - stated the minister.
According to Athena Michaelidou, the new course will be for the 3rd grade of primary school and will last a total of 6 periods per year.
The new subject will be introduced in all primary schools at the start of the new academic year.
