A bar was set on fire in the center of Limassol
The Limassol police were alerted last night. Unknown individuals attempted to set fire to a well-known bar-restaurant in the city center.
According to the police press service, the fire broke out in the popular establishment located on Archbishop Makarios Avenue shortly after 01:00. The name of the establishment is not disclosed in the media.
It is known that the fire was extinguished with the help of a fire extinguisher by a member of the Limassol Crime Prevention Association, and the establishment suffered minor material damage.
As a result of preliminary investigation, it was found that the likely cause of the fire was arson. This is evidenced by recordings from surveillance cameras.
The investigation into the causes of the fire continued this morning.
